Is anyone familiar with this maker? This is a heck of a copy of a Model 18. It appears to be well built and high quality. Sheath by Jim Layton is nice too.

Out of curiosity, I contacted the seller and asked about this knifemaker. He said no information came with the knife. Then I tried a search on the internet and in other knife forums, but no luck.

Hard to believe a knifemaker this talented isn't more notorious.

What about the maker of the sheath, he may know something.

All I found on him was a telephone number on blade forums. I wasn't interested in purchasing the knife, so it didn't warrant a phone call.

I found martinknives.com, looks like a great shop out of Texas. With some very happy customers. Same Martin?

I don't believe it is, Tom. The blade stamp is totally different and none of the Martins in Texas has a first name that starts with a "M" as far as I can tell.
