Ronnie, as I understand it, the only "legal" way he can pull an auction on E-bay after biding starts was if the information was wrong, or he previously noted
"for sale in shop," or had a buy-it-now price. I guess he defaulted to "wrong information."
The real bidding was going to come down in the last 5 minutes of the auction. All the early bids were setting the stage by and large. Don't underestimate the power of what has been posted on this board to influence the market value of that knife. It has happens a lot in the arcane world of tribal oriental carpet collecting... and they make great backgrounds for pictures of Randalls.
