Does it look like steel wool or something was used to clean up the blade?

WTH? It is gone. I thought after a certain number of bids the E-bay auction was supposed to run its course, unless a note was made about "for sale in shop" or somesuch? AGGGHHHHHH ... I'm glad I copied the pictures while sitting in the Charleston SC airport this morning. Geezzzzz we probably helped sell this knife.
