What keeps the blade locked in and how do you get it back into the handle. Cool knife.

Hi. There is a little locking inside the handle. A pinn that goes inside the hole on the top of the knife part. It's a small metal button to push down on the end and it release the inside blade part. Hope you understand my English :-)

These Barrel-Knives are really "tricked out" I remember seeing a custom made specimen at the Solingen Show in May. Very rare and attractive and very safe as well but not exactly a one-hand-opener
Yes, I have noticed them are attractive on the collectors market. Mostly this old ones have very bad condition on the blades but this one is still in nice condition and that's nice :-) Stll, I'm having to many knives and my wife started to nag about them so i'm thinking of selling some of them :-)

Another nice barrel knife. :-) Very glad to see more of them. It's amazing some of this knives is in still pretty good condition. Could be 100 yrs or more old. Capt. Chris: The wood used on this barrel knives is birch. Flame birch and masur birch. Thank's for the post Tunefink :-)

Chris, It's not worm markings, it looks like that.. Masur birchs have this marks inside the wood sometimes. :-) This producers would never use worm wood on the knife handles and that's it . Kind of strange you think them did. Do you use worm wood ???? Sometimes I be amazed :-)
