The display is mounted on a plywood board covered with padding and red felt that is 41" x 59". The board is enclosed in a RMK shop-built wooden case that has outer dimensions of 43" x 61" x 4" deep with a plexiglass cover and trim around the front edges. The case is a little worn, but it has protected the knives in the display which retain their original condition. The red felt has faded in color a little from age versus sunlight and has its original texture. The knives were mounted on the board with a stainless steel wire holding each knife. The board was meant to be used as a display, so there were no sheaths or stones included in the original order. There is a single large eye hook screwed into the top of the case. The entire display with the case weighs just over 100 lbs.

Beautiful display board. My cautionary comment regarding storing it against the felt backing. Saw a Colt Python that had a custom blue felt case , the felt deteriorated and actually stuck to the firearm , rendering a high dollar collectible firearm less valuable. Don't know what caused this to happen but I would inspect the knives back that is against to board to insure such a thing isn't happening here.

Good point about the material and its potential effect on the knives.
When Perry Miller was authenticating the display, we checked for that.
Previously, the display was kept in a climate-controlled store room and now resides in a cool dry room similar to a wine cellar. Here in Colorado, there is less of a chance of damage due to the low humidity. Some long-time Randall collectors that have seen the display and have visited the shop have told me this was a method of mounting that RMK used in the museum. I haven't visited the shop yet and am looking forward to going there and seeing the museum.

The Board will be on display at the 2013 BLADE Show in Atlanta, May 30-June 2, in Booth 327, the far back corner of the show next to the Knife of the Year Display.
Please come take a look!
