Here's an example from today of the type of small jobs my Randall does.
Some big tree branches had broken and fallen across the 'road' (truck trail actually) rendering it impassable. It's my job to keep the trails clear, so I used a pole saw to remove the branches. I dragged away the big ones but some vines were keeping me from moving the remaining ones.
You'd think that the heavy branches would be the hard part and the smaller ones would be a breeze, but noooooo. It's always the last ten percent of a job that causes ninety percent of the aggravation, especially when finishing the job is the only thing standing between you and lunch. A variation of Murphy's Law, I think.
Had I known the vines were there I would have cut them while using the saw, as I did with all the ones that I did see. But now it would seem like overkill to fire up the saw just for a few vines.
I could have walked back to the truck, climbed up in the bed, dug through the tool box, and brought out the clippers, but...that would be too much effort. It was hot and I was tired. I just wanted to be done with this job.
So I unsheathed the Randall. It was at that point that I thought of this thread, so I had to go to the truck anyway to get the camera.

In the first photo the big branches have already been moved, but you can see what the job site looked like.
Oh, and that big brown bear paw is my shaggy glove.
