At the risk of stepping in and offending someone, in reply to your question about baking soda--Yes, it is bicarbonate of soda, same stuff.

However, I would not recommend baking soda for polishing anything with a high polish finish on it--it's cleaning action is based on its abrasiveness, and it is too abrasive and likely to scratch a highly polished surface due to the inconsistent size of the particles and our inconsistency in how hard we might rub it on something we want to polish.

Actually, I hope to buy and try the above referenced product. I have never heard of it and want to see if it is better than Flitz. Based on my limited experience, I rate Flitz above Simichrome, and Simichrome above Brasso and similar metal polishes. Simichrome sometimes seems to have more gritty abrasiveness to it than is appropriate for many high polished surfaces, and Brasso definitely is more abrasive than Simichrome.
