It's an old Rudy Ruana to be sure...I first thought it was a model 20A, but it's not a 20A blade, and just 1 aluminum pin holding the Elk inserts on. I couldn't find any older Ruana's that had the single pin in the handle other than the 10A and 10B, and I'm positive it's not a 10A... maybe Pappy will chime in...he should know.

I have to admit that needed to go to my Ruana book to find it but I did.

This is a Model 21A and shows in the 1940 & 1944 catalog with a single pin. It's on page 91 & 94 of the "Hear the Hammer" Ruana guide book. The next catalog in the book is from 1962 and the 21A has 2 pins.

You should contact the Ruana shop as they may be interested in this early Rudy Ruana knife. Even with the age and wear, it is a rare Ruana. Nice find, what is the history on this one? We'd be interested in how you came to own it and what are your plans for it.

if found it at a flea market and paid 20 bucks for it. thank yall for the info. do to my current bills i am selling it on ebay it was listed this morning. I know i will regret this long after the knife is gone i just hope who ever gets it gives her a good home thanks michael

Really good find as you will probably see from the final sale price. If you happen to have the correct sheath it will even bring more. Good luck.
