Just out of curiosity How much do 1911 grips run? How much more for the skull carved in. How about a J frame just was given a model 60 .357. It won't fit in any of my old .38 j frame holsters. Retaining strap is to short.

Those model 60's are nice! gotta get me one. Hey Capt. Chris where does he get the ivory from? Thought it was next to impossible to get now. Interesting build, waiting on my RKS #. I could use another companion and I know Steve could (I have his now!) Let me know if I missed the boat on this. Thanks.

You're in man! Welcome to the RKS' "Other Forums". As far as ivory goes, all of Gene's ivory was shot and drug over here long before any bans. He picks up tusks all year long. A good number of these old seasoned hunters are dying off sadly. Gene buys many "estate tusks". All are documented as pre-ban.

Really a chump gave me his. Sucker! Thank you very kind I really like it but it makes my old J frames look really small. So what are you going to trade me for the motor home? About time you signed up. Want to see some of my Ivory handled Randalls, I'll bring some down to the shop. Maybe you could take some photos for me and post them here.

Nice pistol you have posted here, but one thing intrigues me? The bottom screw on the left hand grip has no lines. The other 3 screws do. Is that like a "well nut" holding the grip, with the opposite screw, screwing into it ???

Well...This has all been very interesting, our trip down memory of weapons lane, but...What about the build? We have strayed, Crew! Let's get back to work.
How about this idea: Why don't we discuss building the "Combat Companion" and, when we get to handle, shape, etc. we can make some decisions then...regarding matching up the material??? What say you??
