Thanks all, lots of fun participating. Kudos to Peter & Wally for a great photo as well. Uh, got one question... What does "EDO" mean? You know, as in EDO photo contest. Excellent Darn Optically pleasing photo?

It is tough to come up with good idea. I've put a Combat Companion in the current contest, but already I see some freaken' amazing photos that blow mine away. I may put another one up there with a similar theme, but I hear 'ya, Peter, it's tough to come up with good ideas. I'm thinking through some ideas of the knives being used yet still being photographed in a way to highlight the beauty of the knife.

The one above was shot on an red/orange picnic table (you can see the reflection on the hilt) at a local park near a river. The Fox River (in Illinois) is in the background and there is a small spillway in the background. The tree branch and leaves the APFK is resting on was a broken branch that was laying on the ground in the park - a storm had gone through the night before and there was lots of stuff that had been blown about. I went over there with eight or ten knives and took pictures all afternoon.

I debated using these photos instead:

Glad that I used the one that I did.

Hi Peter,
thank you for posting the link :-))

Dan,
thank you for explaining your photos. Nice place.
Edo is my nickname in Italian.
My name is Edoardo from the German or Old English Edward

For sure in American ED is better :-))
All the best!

Excellent work Dan and special thanks for sharing the story behind the pictures.

The fact that the first vote ended in a tie indicates just how tough the competition was. Congrats to all for some very fine photography.
