OK Crew:
We're gonna build a Randall "Combat Companion". The knife comes with a 5" blade (1/4" stock) and is available in stainless or carbon. Single or double hilts OK. Handle material we'll have to decide and try to pair it up with something we can make 45 automatic grips out of. A lot to do.

This will be a good one. I like the size and feel of the combat companion. I think the handle material is if first importance.Pretty but tough. I just threw this out to get started but how about Ironwood, of course we could Go all George Patton and have Ivory and then get it skrimed by mr. Bowels, Gosh now it needs real silver and engraved. Someday I'll be rich, but thill now these builds are great. Thanks again Capt.

I like that blade on the one that Pap won. I think maybe this one should be done without the sawteeth though. I like Steve's idea of Ivory, but since this is going to be a pretty high dollar build with the pistol maybe we should think about Stag. I know it isn't cheap either. I would be happy with Ironwood also.

I have one on order now with the Cap that has a stag handle and no sawteeth, SS, NSH, and thong. I think it will be a nice one.

Is there any chance of finding a piece of CW big enough to make the CC and a pair of grips for a 1911? It would make for a pretty hot pair.

It would be "quite" difficult in stag, but ivory or several exotic woods could be found. What did you have in mine, Tune? I have 2 matching pieces of exhibition grade desert ironwood to match. I also have a long stick of cocobola and (I think) some quilted maple. That's some ideas...just for starts.
