Got the OK from the Old Dog. Thanks to Shebop for sending the pictures by Kerry. Based on a Joseph Rodgers pattern, here's the Norfolk. (Norfolk is the name of the street the company was located on.)

Size is 3 3/4 closed.

Ya, that knife has it all. I like the eased openings for the blades, the swedges, and a feller could do a lot with those two blades.

Awww man, I am so very hosed! This is one of my very favorite patterns. I will have to get some of these. I asked Tony about this pattern back in '05 -- here was his answer:

Quote:

Dwight,

I have not made any Norfolk style knives. I have wanted to since Brummett was a pump, but I just have not done it yet.

What took so long on this reply was that Rhett was scanning a page from his Joseph Rodgers catalog.

The Norfolk knives are the ones with the hump on the springs, at the center pin.

Regards,

Tony

Looks like Tony figured out how to have his cake and eat it too. (Note: the first three knives on the JR catalog page are Wharncliffe whittlers, the rest are Norfolk knives (if you magnify the page you'll see the blades are stamped with this also). The original Joseph Rodgers Norfolk knives are just about impossible to get. In fact, I have none, and actually have not even seen one on the market in years of collecting Joseph Rodgers knives.)

THANKS for posting these pics. I look forward to seeing Tony's Case collaboration knife each year (I have one of each 10 made so far in jigged bone) and to be honest the last three have been big single-blade knives and I keep hoping for more pocket-friendly multi-blades and this one looks great! I like how they share one backspring, should make for a nice thin knife!

I asked someone at Case what the choices are for handle material and they're the same as last year: jigged antique bone, jigged chestnut bone, smooth ebony wood, mother of pearl, and abalone.

I'm surprised they've stopped using stag on these knives; I think this pattern in stag would look sharp, but having two choices of jigged bone and MOP will work for me!
