One of Tony's children is seen here peeling a "tagua" seed. Tagua is a wonderfully dense, white material also known as vegetable ivory. During the XIX century Europeans used tagua for making fine buttons and other luxury accoutrements.

The problem is that I live overseas and customs won't let them in for sanitary (?) reasons. I'll try to bring some in my suitcase the next time I travel to the US. I agree, that's a great material very much like ivory.
