This is the pattern I would like to know more about, the “43” Whittler, No.20. Here one is in Red Bone, Split Spring, D-2 Blades & a Double Bomb Shield. This is an older knife, notice how far the pins are away from the bolster.

Does anyone know why its called the "43" Whittler?

I'm assuming that it was based on the "43" pattern whittler made by WR Case & Sons before 1915 - it was a "serpentine" pattern, about 3 3/4" long, with a clip main blade and two pen blades. I've only found this description so far -- I've probably got an image or figure of it somewhere in my references though. I'll keep looking.

Thanks Dwight...I have no background to speak of on all the Case Pattern Numerology. Too many to deal with and that's not throwing in all those dots.

This Whittler has some strange 2nd cut pressed stag. I believe the material came from England...then went back to England...which is good

(or is it Delrin?)
