Hello
I sure am! The R.H. Ruana knives and bowies are works of art. Of course Rudy would be turning in his grave if he realized so many of us are collecting them. I look forward to talking with you. What sort of R.H. Ruanas do you favor?

I only have a dozen or so including a hatchet, but I do like them. My first trip west was in the summer of 1965 when I was a forestry student at Louisiana Tech. Back then the forestry colleges got 10-12 summer jobs each for the U.S.Forest Service. I signed up early and go a job in Plains, Montana just north of Missoula. There were a number of us young men from all over and after a week or so, the head bull buck asked us if we had bought our White's logging boots and Ruana knives yet. The next weekend we drove into Missoula to a sporting goods store and each of us bought the boots and a Ruana knife. After we showed up so equipped, the bull buck thought we were all ok dudes for the rest of the summer.

Hello
I've spent many years in the forests of the Pacific Northwest with White's boots on my feet, and a R.H. Ruana on my belt. Great times.

I'm new to this so be patient with communications skills.

Anyone know anything about a Ruana model 2 signed by D A Ruana. I'm not even sure it's a #2, says that on the back of the sheath.

There is a very good article on Rudy Ruana in the latest Blade magazine for those so intetested. Also in the same issue are some pictures of the upcoming Scagel auction.

Pappy,
I am working on being a Collector, I am only 3 Knives in right now. My Problem is I hate just leaving them on a shelf. I want to use them, a knifes soul needs to be exercised on occasion smile. Here is a link to a Ruana Interview, you may have seen it. In any case, here ya go. Tu Compadres, Sutty

I carry my Ruana "Smokejumper" every day. A nice small sheath knife that isn't in the way or cumbersome on my belt. I ordered it from Ruana with a parry strip, wrist thong and flap sheath. A very handy fixed blade knife. Also, the Ruana Finn Special is a good all-around knife to use; can't hurt them.
