A close friend is/was desiring to know about this knife… so I dug the pictures out.

This was a “possible” Case/Bose Collaboration knife that was never accepted by Case (I guess) They have/had one in the lineup that was the same pattern I assume.

Here you have the completed knife…The Quality Control Knife D2/Remington Bone

And the Pull-a-Part which the pattern is then made from.

Two things that are interesting is that there is no bushing and that the stamp is just two X’s. This was made before the prototype stamp was introduced.

Wow! That's a shame that was never made by Case. Maybe it was too similar to other patterns that they have. Nice images John!

There is a bushing in the finished knife. If I put it in the pull apart they would have lost it.

Friends,

Looks to me like it would have been another fantastic Collab! The Rem bone is hard to beat!

Yep, you are right Kent....I feel it is and would be a great EDC... especially if that was a small recurved or regular wharncliffe blade instead of the pen. Maybe Case will give it a second look someday???

I'm with Dwight on that. And the wharncliff would be nice.

After the release of the (very well received) T.Bose designed W.R Case three blade SowBelly in 2001, a few ideas were tossed around to continue the success of this production knife.

A couple prototype knives were made using the SowBelly Trapper pattern. Here are those knives with D-2 blades (stamped XX) and Remington bone scales. Sadly none of these were ever made.

Also a single blade “Lock Back” Sowbelly Pull-a-Part knife was made, which was never produced (a slip joint version was).

Those sowbelly trappers are the best looking and most desirable knives I've ever seen. Not that I don't feel that way each time I see a new Bose knife. But really, they are the perfect knife; and the bone is outstanding.
