I saved the big knives for the last part. The first is the BP pattern you may be used to seeing around here but with a different blade this time. A 4.5" BP with somewhat of a drop point blade made of D-2. Probably from the early to mid '80s.

There's a funny story about this knife. It was given by Freddie to his nephew while still a kid in school. As kids sometimes do, he lost his knife on the school bus. The bus driver recognized the knife and gave it back to Freddie instead of the nephew. Freddie hasn't told the nephew to this day.:D

Another 4.5" BP but this time with a recurved drop point blade.

The best is always saved for last right...
As far as I know this is one of a kind, 4 5/8" Saddlehorn with Damascus Blade, lock, bolsters, and steel liners.

Yer welcome Randy. It was fun seeing all these old knives. I oiled them up and took them back to Freddie this evening.

Really nice photos. I enjoyed looking at all the different models. I really like the 2 bladed small saddlehorn a lot, and that's what I have on order... anyone have one that they can post pics of?

Oustanding collection of Bose knives. Thanks Kerry for taking the time to post them.

On the damascus ones, did Tony put the acid wash on the blades and parts? Or maybe there wasn't an acid wash? I thought on damascus blades an wash is used to make the damascus stand out more.

Also a great lesson in the richness that sentimental value adds to a collection. Thanks

That's quite true John. It's the stories that go along with the knives that oftentimes make them more cherished.

There's a funny story that Tony told me and then Freddie told me again when I took his knives back last night. Tony and Freddie went to a Case event hosted by the Smokey Mountain Knife Works one year. People often bring something for Tony to autograph but this one time someone walked up to Freddie and handed him(not Tony)something to be signed. Freddie said he looked at Tony like, "What do I do?". Tony motioned or said something to the effect, "Go ahead and sign it" and he did. So somewhere somebody has an offically Freddie autographed whatsit that will be handed down from generation to generation.
