It is actually a smaller teardrop. It is smaller then the desk knife model. This one is approx. 3 1/16" closed length but I love the stag.

I can't say for sure. It is hand finished so it must be either D2 or ATS-34. My guess is ATS-34 ...

From the wisdom of Mr. Obvious: They stamp for both of those so it is either something different than that or before they got the stamps.

What's it taste like? Stainless or High Carbon

I was thinking more like maybe there wasn't enough room to stamp it or the stamps they had were too large for the knife at the time.

Tony, can give us a clue on this?

Thanks Tony for clearing that up. I thought as much. Any idea what type of steel?? I figure it is either D2 or ATS-34 since it is hand finished.

Probably ATS 34 if you can't see the orange peel.
