No disrespect to those who have shown their preference..."but"...with only 5 members interested enough in this project to post up, it just...ain't...worth it!
I'll give it till Friday. If not more, it'll go the way of all the other builds from recent participation...away!

looks like 8-4 old style is a strong contender -- I'll switch my earlier vote from 26 to 8-4 old style with single hilt.

OK, small but loyal crew,
We're building an old style Trout & Bird. Here's the specs, as comes standard on this guy:
* 4 inch blade length
* 3/16 inch blade stock
* A Bowie-style blade shape
* Top edge is sharp!
* Brass reduced hilt
* Red, white & blue spacers
* Stag handle
* Tan Model "B" sheath with a "wrap-around" handle keeper strap
Historical note: Francis Gary Powers carried this model when he was shot down over Russia in his U-2 spy plane (May, 1960)
.........So..........Where do we go from here?.........&.........
we are not handcuffed to exactly our $600 total price: little over or under (within 10%) is acceptable.
Let's ROLL!
P.S.: For historical reference, here's a spendid example in a Tight-stitched, brown button, split-looped pancake sheath, (Outta' The Captain's ""Stash")
Stay Sharp,
Capt. Chris
