Just wondering if anyone here collects/uses SAKs?

I have a number of SAKs and use them constantly.

I don't know if they still list them in their catalog but RMK had offered Victorinox paring knives.

Pap,
I figured that you would be a user of the SAKs.

Truely a very handy knife. That along with my Leatherman WAVE,I pretty much have just about everything covered.

I just ordered two more SAKs a Hunter and a Rescue. Like 22s,you never seem to have enough!!!

I was given a SAK shortly before I went in the Navy in 1964.
Been with me ever since.
I was at Blade Show about 6 years ago and showed it to the folks at the booth and told its story.
They took it apart, replaced nicked and worn parts, gave me extra ivory toothpicks and tweezers No Charge
They liked my stories

David,
That pretty much sounds typical of the service given by the folks at Victorinox.

I carry a Climber daily. Had a SAK in my pocket since early 1980's.

Have several...too many to carry all but always have one handy.

Also, their multi-tool is probably the best-made and most functional of the brands that are available. Especially if it includes the socket set. Broke mine in way back when switching a refrigerator handle from left to right side for a friend. This one is more expensive than other brands, but it can be passed on.

Larry,
Victorinox has a lifetime guarantee and if your multitool broke, send it to them and they will repair/replace it for free.

I can see from the above posts that there are a lot of folks who like/use their SAKs.

Wayne--

I didn't "break" mine. I made first use of it doing the task for a friend.

It is a bit heavy to haul around on a belt or in a pocket, but it sure is packed with good tools, easy to open, comfortable to hold and use.

Larry,
My fault,I misunderstood the post, you "broke it in"

I don't know how many times a Swiss Army Knife or Leatherman Wave has saved me a trip downs stairs to get what ever tool I needed.

When I go in the field,I put a Swiss Army Ranger 57M grip on my belt. It has never let me down.

A few days ago I received the latest issue of BLADE Magazine and there was an article there about the Victorinox knives with the Camper model pretty much the focus of the article.

Well I looked at my collection of SAKs and lo and behold there wasn't any Camper model there.

Yep,you guessed it,I have a Camper now and it is in my pocket.

I have the Explorer. The magnifying glass is very handy smile I recently touch the new Alox knives. They finally made clips and liner locks on the small knives. I really liked them. Also they replaced the can opener with a serrated hook

I guess no matter what your preference is,Victorinox pretty well has a SAK to suit your needs

They are nice little geems, probably the most popular/used knives out there.

Yesterday I used my Victorinox SAK Model Farmer XL Alox to adjust the sight on my Daisy Adult Red Ryder (yes,I still do shoot my RR often)

Seems that the two go together.

Slight thread drift here but I find it relaxing to shoot tin cans with the RR. Brings back many memories of times way back.

The SAK seems to fit right in.

I don't know which is more relaxing, sitting and whittling on a piece of wood or shooting tin cans with the Red Ryder.

Even better yet, sitting on water's edge doing both!!!

Shoot,
Add to that a line in the water with the bobber just waiting to be pulled under while you are whittling away.

Plus taking pot shots at little sticks in the water with the Red Ryder.

Add to that your favorite "refreshment" and the list goes on.

You are certainly right there!!

True relaxation does not need to be expensive or complicated.

Looks like I drifted from the thread.........again.

Getting back to the SAKs check out the Swiss Army Knights website it is truly interesting Those folks are just as interested in their SAKs as we are with our Randall knives

Wayne, yeah, that would be a great vacation!

I bought some Swiss cards last week; they are pretty handy gadgets, My wife is very happy. Small SAKs often get lost and fall out of her bag, but the card corners catch on everything and stay in place
