Naked knives are always unfortunate.
I know collectors who put sheaths aside and cannot find them or match them up when they decide to part with the knives.
Even worse when their families are left with "stuff" to deal with like that.
Some years ago, a Bowie collector who loved the movie "Iron Mistress" and all things knives about it and also collected Randalls had somebody come in and steal his knives. He had the reverse problem...sheaths with no knives to go with them.
Also know somebody who had lots of stuff stolen including Randall knives. They did not take the sheaths.... He later got a call from a nearby gun shop who knew him and they had him come in and identify a Large Sasquatch that somebody brought in asking how to get a sheath for it. Turns out the man looking for a sheath had unknowingly bought the stolen knife from one of the thieves, and this led to the arrest of the thieves and the recovery of all his "stuff."
