So the stag on my GTR has developed a crack. I plan on sending it to Randall but wondered if they choose to repair, not replace the stag how noticeable the repair is typically. Especially hoping to hear from someone who has been down this road.

Randalls warranty is excellent. I assume the handle will be replaced. Repairing a crack so its unnoticeable is too painstaking. Ive never heard of any manufacturer repairing handles, they usually replace them. Some private craftsmen fill the cracks with the epoxy , matching the color. Its a very tedious task and does not guarantee that the handle will not crack again

A friend of mine had a Sambar horn (not a Randall, Puma Nicker) crack when he flew on a plane to the desert in winter. He lived in the north near the sea. I think it was caused by the sudden change in humidity and temperature - from 0 C to +45 C, and from high humidity to near zero. Puma just replaced the handle

From time to time I apply mineral oil on my stag handles and wipe
them down real good.No prombles.

I have several stag handled Randalls, some decades older than this one. All are kept in the same safe. This is the newest addition and the only one that has had an issue. Likely just an anomaly but I would like to have it corrected. I am just worried the fix is applying glue to the crack and it remains obvious. Point of the thread was hoping someone can show a Randall repaired crack.

Point of this thread "should" be to advise as to how the shop handles it. Here's what RMK does: Per Scott: Send it in. If it's a "CHECK MARK" the shop fills it. If it's a "crack", they replace it. You should send it to RMK for them to handle it....(Get it? "Handle it?)
