Capt,
Thank you. With these new fangled computer gizmos,I am surprised I don't send more stuff into cyberspace more often.

Just came back in from my weekly squirrel safari, did not need to use my Opinel Explorewr as there are more squirrels in my yard than the forest.

Was nice to have along though.

Las week I made a new pimped Opinel.

A Nr. 9 this time.

Blade: 3 1/2" made of Achim Wirtz carbon Raindrop Damascus.
Handle: Stabilized spalted French Boxwood, with silver decorative pinning.

Gert, this is a wonderful work!

I have one #7 made of stainless steel. Boxwood handle. This wood is practically water-resistant. My wife uses the knife constantly and it's always wet. It hasn't changed color in about three years. It's always open and hangs on a magnetic holder as a fixed knife

I have an Opinel picnic set. It has a #8 knife and a fork and spoon attachment.

It is so simple and works quite well and does the job much better than some of the other folders with so many gizmos and stuff.

Had to go to the internet and see what it looked like.
Now, I have to add to my want list.

B&B,
It is so simple,it is ingenious!!!

The knife & fork attachments fit the #8 so well.

It makes a nice,compact unit.

I hope you get yours before Christmas!!!

Shoot,
Like most folks here,I have a few Opinel knives.

The one I use in the field on my squirrel (and other) safaris is their Model 12 Explorer. I have the one with the tick remover. The other model is offered with a ferro rod.

It is way too big for pocket carry and Opinel does offer a nice sheath for it.

I had my long time friend,Chris Kravit of Tree Stump leather make a sheath for it for me. Super nice and works great.
