Please excuse my repeating this question, but I was wondering what years Randall used the dry white faced compass and was it made by Marbles? I know the black face was used in the 60's and 70's but know the white faced wasn't used but a few years. Thanks in advanced.

Pap

Looking at Sheldon's reference sheets the first white faced were used 1972-75.
BLACK Marbles approx. 1975-83
Second white faced, that were similar to Marbles, but white faced, 1983-97.
Black luminescent has been used since 1996.
I do not know if the white faced were made by Marbles.

Well: According to "Pete's book" it was used in the 1990's. I "have" had many examples of white-faced compasses from the 90's. Not sure about any "others"...FWIW.
Stay Sharp,
