I used some wood chisels and a wood rasp at first. At the end I used a fine wood chisel to remove the last sliver of leather from the black spacers.

I had a nice block of Rag Micarta coming from a 2 inch thick floor tile that was saved from a burned down dance hall in Philadelphia before WWII. Got that years ago from American knifemaker W.W. Pease.

Had the idea that would look very nice on this knife. The idea was to give this knife a model 22 handle. Here's a picture of everything pre-assembled.
