The M1 Carbine was the first centerfire rifle that I ever fired. I was 10 years old and during my NRA Hunter's Safety course, they let us each fire five rounds out of one.

I recently picked one up from the local gun shop. It was made by the Millville Ordnance Company (MOCO). This company was not around long and eventually became the Plainfield Machine Company.

These MOCO Carbines are a mixture of commercial receivers and USGI parts.
