It's been a while since I checked in with the knife forums, and am shocked to see what I've read! Scott in the hospital, and others fighting it.
Crazy times we live in, that's for sure!
I know a few with covid that are doing OK, and one that was in the hospital on a bipap machine, she is doing better and hopefully going home next week.
It's just crazy how some people just get mild symptoms, and some are devastated.
I've heard where this Delta variant is more infectious than the original strain, but because it's a mutant, the vaccine has limited coverage with it. A leaky Vaccine.
I have heard that people have been struggling with whether to get the vaccine or not. I'm one of them. I'm a healthy guy, I take vitamins every day and try to eat right and wash my hands regularly, use mouthwash and nasal cleansing daily, but none of that is a guarantee against getting it.
I read where the Randall shop had 1/4 of its employees with covid, were any of them vaccinated, does anyone know? How about Scott, was he vaccinated?
I have not been vaccinated at this point. I do take care of myself and mask, and am careful when out in public.
Just would like to know your stories and experiences with it as I try to make that decision to Vax or not...

This is a no-brainer. Take the vaccine. Preferably Pfizer.

Wife and I are fully vaccinated since April. All 5 of my kids are fully vaccinated age 34-15. We have all traveled a lot this summer and I will still wear a mask indoors. Michigan is not seeing the numbers like the Southern States. Hoping all stay safe and keep up the prayers for all of our USA family.

I'm fully done, have been since May (2nd shot) with Moderna. Aaron got Covid at the shop, and had been vaccinated, and was back in a week or so. Scott got it, was not vaccinated, and you can read about his struggles.
I get it: Folks don't want to be told "what to do". Fine. I looked at it differently. Got my 1st shot on my birthday and the second in May..."KNOWING" I was going to be attending The Blade Show, 1st weekend in June. I considered it "MY CHOICE"! No one "told" me what to do. I "chose" to have the security of an additional safety measure.
I sure as shit don't want to get into a pissin' contest about this. Just telling you what I did...(Your mileage may vary)

I got the Maderna in February and March, and Lucille got hers, the Johnson version in May. A friend in Arkansas got the Maderna series as did his wife. Last month he got Covid and said it felt like a cold, no fever, some congestion but mostly runny nose, and his wife didn't get it. He was over it in a week. We get flu shots every year, got the booster shingles shot and the latest pneumonia shot that takes in 23 varieties. Do it.

Thanks so much for your answer and good info. I'm sure I struggle/grapple with some of the same issues as you all do, I'm 66 years old, a bit overweight, but in relative good health for my age.

It had been a while since may I think that I had looked up world covid stats. When I did, I was a bit dumbfounded. US led the world in case and deaths, and right behind us is India! I thought, wait a minute, India has 4 times as many people on roughly 2/3 less land mass! And covid is highly contagious! So how could that be?
I started digging into it and found out that India cut their cases/death way back because they started dispensing to families a drug kit that included Ivermectin. No, not the animal variety they are trying g to confuse us with, but the people version. It's designed use is for parasites and worms. Well, it it can kill a parasite or worms, why can't it knock out a virus too. Fact is, that it does! If you look at world stats, India lost 500+ people yesterday, and we lost 1900+. They have a vaccination rate of 11% ours is 53% fully vaxed. There are some states in India that uses our protocal such as remdesivir and ventilators, but others that use the ivermectin protocal. Such as the state of Utta Pradesh. 200 million people and only 2 people died yesterday. They have all but eradicated it. And it's with a low vaccination rate.
These are the numbers and they don't lie.
