Looks like some real good stuff to me !!!

I’m going to get some beans soaking in the morning.

When you soak your beans, add a tablespoon of baking soda, keeps the gas down but doesn't hurt the flavor. Pap

.. and don't add salt, it 'cures' the husk and makes it rubbery.

Yes, I always salt last, a little at a time.

CoachAttachmentsDefinitely a keeper and looks delicious. I made some fried skinless boneless chicken thighs with Zatarans chicken fry in my #5 Griswold skillet.

Pap:
That sure looks good! I showed it to my Bride and she said we had some Zatarains and that she would fix some chicken with it after Thanksgiving.

It will also go good with mashed taters, shoe peg korn, and ingleesh peez.

I’m thinkin’ some homemade biscuits with huckleberry jam too!

Yeah Coach, that sounds like a winner. I marinated the chicken thighs for about an hour in buttermilk, then dredged in the fry mix, then in hot Crisco in my Griswold cast iron skillet. Cooked 4 thighs, ate 2 outright and nibbled on the other 2 later. I didn't make any smashed spuds or corn, but would have if I had company. Biscuits and huckleberry jam would be dessert for me.

Had some garlic mashed potatoes left over, and a little turkey meat, so chopped the meat, added it to the spuds, one egg, 2 Tablespoons flour, mixed well, cooked in butter. With these potato pancakes, you must be patient and get a good crust on before turning. I sprinkled a little Old Bay on each side, and used a little Duke's mayo with each bite. Very tasty.
