Agreed guys,
I call them "transitional sheaths", i.e. knives that were made after the introduction of the pewter-look (logo) snaps..."BUT"...(There ya' go)...using a leftover sheath from the baby dot era.
Being as this is a dealer special, and not knowing how often Doug's orders got filled for the 8" version, it could have been 1996, give or take, for this combo to be made.
