So, do you guys EDC one or more of your Bose knives? If so is it your primary knife or is it second to say a clipped one hand opening folder or a fixed blade? How do you cary it (ie: in a pouch or loose in pocket)? Does anyone carry with abandon by having a Bose knife loose in the same pocket as say your keys?

Just curious what others are doing with their Bose knives.

Slide,I keep my custom slipjoint in my right watchpocket in my jeans.A clipped folder in my right pocket, and a small fixed blade,in either a pocket clip type custom pouch,or a leather pocket pouch. This combo pretty much handles anything. When I have a larger clipped knife on the right,I usually go with a smaller slip.Lately,my new Reese Bose shadow,a 3".If I go with a bigger size slip,I may not have a clipped knife, and just go with the 2.Any really seriously hard work,I go for the fixed, and the slips, can handle it,but I generally use these for lighter, more delicate work.

So contact with the keys doesn't tear up the knife too much?

I have a variety of bose knives I rotate around for daily use. On workdays, I carry a single or multiblade, 3.5 or smaller in my left front pocket, away from my keys. I'm still not that good about keeping my knife in its own pocket, so I often carry the knife in a Den's of England leather pouch so that it wont have to compete with change and keys. On weekends I also carry a 4.5 Bose backpocket knife. If I'm coaching baseball, where I'm never sure if some kid is going to nail me with a bat or a ball, I change to a cheap rubber watch, and I only carry micarta handled knives.

Its a micarta handle and it gets tiny scraches. I'm sure it could be buffed out. But it gives it a little charactor. Why not, I bought it to use it.

On the weekend wearing jeans I'll throw a shadow WT loose in my pocket, but during the week in dress pants I pretty much always carry slippies in a Den's. It's an extra step to pull the knife out and use it, true, but I prefer the way the knife sits in the pocket with the case and it imprints a lot less.

I alternate carrying my Bose knives. I usually carry one in each of my front pockets in a pouch. I like to carry and use my Tony ivory Back Pocket; carry the Moose Proto, and the small Reese whittler, but rotate frequently among my entire collection. In my shirt pocket I usually carry a Case/Bose collaboration to use and use hard. I usually switch off between the muskrat and lockback whittler.

After about a year of heavy use, the hawbacker muskrat became pretty scratched up. Just put it on the buffer yesterday and now it looks pretty clean. Clean and sharp that is.

Carry them and use them. That is what they are for.
