It's just "upside down" in the photo.

Old knives are great. Much finer made than modern ones and still going strong. This is a Sunfish Camillus. Marked 1919-1946 if I remember correctly. The handle is 4 inches, the blade is about 3 1/4 inches, but it feels no smaller in the hand than an XM24. It's a pleasure to cut with them smile

Made a short video

I inserted the same video with bb code, I wonder if it plays in the browser or is it just a picture that redirects to the same place as the link?

Caught a fish yesterday. The guy did a great job of preparatory work - rebuilt and clean for an unfinished project. The blades and spring are in excellent condition for their age. The scales are some kind of dark brown plastic, presumably Bakelite resin impregnated paper, 4" closed, main blade very similar to Zulu

I was thinking about locks on knives. It seems that the two most powerful ones are on navajas, real old navajas with 40-50 cm blades that were actually used for their intended purpose, and on large old lever lock knives. That is, a large hardened pin that passes through the handle and blade, and extends out from the side, like the pins for attaching an excavator bucket, for example. In my opinion it the most reliable design, although not the fastest to open or close. In a similar way, the breech of powerful cannons is closed from the side (Keilverschluss). The Black Knives (Ox Forge), which were copied by Microtech and many others, and William Henry also have a push-button lock that is similar in principle of operation
