Well,You all know I was able to obtain a Tony Bose knife recently, there's a picture of my stag Lanny's Clip in the gallery here.
I also ,recently, put in an order with Reese, for a #6 Wharncliffe trapper, with brown jig bone, and 440v blade steel.Reese told me,time has a way of going by quick.I can patiently wait the three years out,it'll be worth it.Heck of a nice guy to talk with,as well, that Reese.
And,he makes a really perfect knife as well.On St. Pat's weekend,I was fortunate to obtain a Reese Bose Shadow,D-2 clip pt,a little guy,3" closed. The fit and finish is ,well,Bose Quality, but the walk and talk on this one,Wow!
As I checked this little knife out,all I could think about,is,how my Grandfather would have loved this knife. He always carried a Buck Lancer,a tiny knife, through the years I was fortunate enough to spend my boyhood summers with him.I'd shoot rabbits and squirrels, and this is when I was taught to field dress game.He used that little Lancer ,all the time, for this.I know,if he ever saw that little Reese Bose shadow,he'd a given me that Buck Lancer in a swap. Those were good days.
I'm glad to be able to own Tony and Reese Bose knives, and I'm looking forward to at least one more, maybe 2,if I'm real lucky.

Hi Vince,

Thanks for the story.. I am sure we all apreciate it.. Glad you like the knives. I said to myself one day, if I could just have one of Tony's knives, I would be happy and content. Well, one wasn't enough !!!! I haven't owned one that I haven't loved. And as hard as it is to acquire them, it is even harder to let them go... Ahhhrrrggg....

Sounds like that little shadow pattern should be carried and used. I recommend that you do just that.

Enjoy it in good health..

Congrats Vince
you have a nice collection going
that trapper pattern is perfection and you'd be surprised how fast time flies
and whats 3 years compared to the lifetime that knife will serve.

Here is a picture of the Shadow,in green canvas micarta. The little blade on the Buck Lancer, was what my Grandfather used to take the clothes off the little critters. He would have appreciated the thin ground blade, for its scalpel - like performance.
Thanks for the comments & enjoy the "little" view.

Hi Vince,

It is amazing the utility that can be gained by the smaller blades of a multiblade knife. My favorite is the coping blade on a whittler. I use it for tasks such as: fine cutting of photo paper, opening letters, boxes, trimming nails and many other tasks. I think one of the most useful pieces that I have is a Reese Rogers whittler that is 3" closed. Small but smooth and filled with great utility..

I have posted it before, but here is another look for good measure.

A close friend of mine sold it to me about a year ago for a very reasonable price. I bought it because it is a Bose but have grown to love it in the past year. I hope to never have to part with it....

Glad to have you on the Bose team my friend...
