That's the nick name I gave this little wonder, just received this from Mr Tony Bose today, my wife drove
it up to my work, couldn't wait to get home!

Now, let it be known, he had only a small carved piece of
blue foam to work with as a pattern, he graciously sent a
small wharncliff knife as a leather working blade but I
found it too slim and sent it back with my thanks but he
said he would be willing to make something else, I told him
that it was not necessary but he said he would like to do
this and so he did, and as most of you know, he is true to
his word, here is the bit of foam sent, I asked for the scales
to be octagonaly shaped for better grip when working on the
leather

Excuse the poor photos, taken quickly at work with a smaller
camera, hand holding the knife and camera is a trick!
Thanks again sir!

I didn't see the finished knife but when Tony handed me the foamy deal I said...WHAT THE HELL IS THAT! LOL

He had the blade out of HT and ready to start working on it. Great looking(and so far one of a kind)knife you have there. Kinda looks like a slug...a very SHARP slug Congrats on the new Bose knife Gary.

I'll be looking forward to a performance report on that lil rascal. Styrofoam pattern is different, never seen one like it before.

Kerry, I asked Tony NOT to laugh too hard when that arrived
I left for Ireland for work just before it was sent to him
and this Saturday I head for Plovdiv, Bulgaria for a weeks
work there, a lot of traveling lately, long days all over.

I will be putting her to use tonight, but in that aspect
she feels great, even if she is a 'slug' a shapely
one though! and the facets provide many secure grip position
for both downward cuts as well as draw cuts, thanks to the
slight curve up at the tail end.
He did a very good job at deciphering the piece of foam!

and John, I figured the foam was easier to keep whittling
at until I reached what felt right, soft wood would have
been handier but this worked well.

I've a guy here that also does taxidermy and he is REALLY
eye balling this knife, insists that I give it to him!

It could turn into a nice little wood carving knife as well !

edited to add;
blade steel D2...very sharp!
blade length is 1 3/4"
handle length is 4"
handle thickness 5/8"

and included with the knife was a handy
bandage

Congratulations Gary
Looks like typical perfect Bose execution.
Nice Idea sending the foam model in for fit
what a great carver..in the Kitchen id use her as a turning knife for beveling vegetables

Use her in good health!

Thanks Ran, I was using it tonight, cuts leather like it
was butter, love that D2 steel too, very keen edge.
The handle is fairly thick, as I requested, so it is a
bit steadier in the hand when cutting, works very nice!
Thanks again Mr Bose!

Yep and those flat facets will keep it right where you want it. Better keep an eye out for that taxidermy man

Thanks for sharing Gary.

Update, using her today making some holsters for carrying
box cutter knives, large black sharpie pens and pencils for
two guys at work, made one for the one guy many years ago and
he wanted a new one.
The knife works extremely well, the thickness of the handle
adds to the security and grip positions, very very nice knife!

Thanks again Mr Bose!
