I am down to one 1911 which is a Colt Gov't model (commercial) that was purchased back in '58 for the grand sum of $80. new!!!

In 1970,I sent it to Jim Clark to be made up for National Match competition. It is superbly accurate with the mid range load but is not made for hardball.

I had other 1911s over the years including a Les Baer Concept VII Commander.

But,the one that has my attention is the standard grade GI issue 1911. Basically it is super reliable with hardball and that round has a proven track record.

Carried cocked and locked (which is the way JMB designed it),it is super safe.

Back in the 80s when the military switched to the 9mm Beretta, some outfits, mainlty Marines, hung on to their 1911s as long as possible.

I understand that the DCM might now be getting some 1911s in. I wonder what price and what condition???
