Give that man a cigar for the correct answer.

So...would you call it a blade or a "box implement"????

It's a blade, right?, but not a screwdriver blade Tony explained it to me so thanks for the edumacation.

Now a tougher question that may not have an answer. Has the design of that blade evolved to become the screwdriver blade on the SAK's like the bottom/left blade on the Trekker pictured here? I don't know...just asking what ya'll think.
Not as many cigar boxes being opened these days, I'm assuming, but there's still lots of screwin and unscrewin to be done.

I would say you are comparing apples and oranges...the old Congress is not about "these days"...different time and much different place...IMHO
(even though the SAK were created in 1897)

Dont get me wrong...I really like SAK's and I do agree "there's still lots of screwin" to be done...just not with this

I wonder what the original owner of this knife would have thought of the Trekker??

I agree, there's no comparison in usage and purpose. I was just wondering if modern makers make the same mistake as most people would...that your "blade" is a screwdriver. Then maybe they were inspired to "improve" the "screwdriver" with a cap-lifter and move the "wire stripper".

Like I said, there probably isnt an answer for that question.
