Largest one in 20 years according to the news, hope all is well. I have a friend near Yellowstone and he said there have been more tremors than usual around there lately.

No doubt the reports say that it was felt around, but this morning it doesn't look like there was even a stir in the neighborhood. Got a few texts this morning making sure we're alright, and I certainly appreciate you fellas checking in.
Living out here means constantly dealing with the reality that Yellowstone is ticking away to "hitting the refresh button on the local ecosystem". I hadn't realized until the article this morning just how accelerated the seismic activity is lately, but at the end of the day it could be a tsunami, a volcano, or a MF terrorist that's gonna knock you off, so ya just gotta live your life and love what you do with it!
Headed back out to the woods towards Helena this weekend, and soon thereafter I'll be trudging through the volcanos (er, mountains) with James and Becky up in Glacier NP!! BRING IT ON MOTHER NATURE YOU CAN'T STOP US!!!! Well, you could, but please don't....

Sooner or later no matter where you live you have to deal with Mother Nature albeit some areas are far worse than others. Enjoy the upcoming trip and post up some pics of those Behring blades in action:-)

My bear spray comes in the form of 240 grain sleeping pills, fed from my darling .44 mag. After the gentleman last year got seriously mauled AFTER emptying his bear spray on a grizzly, I won't take any chances. A charging bear shouldn't be deterred, it needs to be stopped. Check this link out, but note in advance there's a hefty bit of blood on this guy: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tK609rbSBLs

I didn't think you could carry in a National Park. If you can,I highly recommend the Guide holster by Diamond D from Alaska. I have one for my bear gun, a Glock 10mm Model 20. 15+1 plus another 15 round clip. It helps if the last person in your hiking groups, walks backwards to keep from getting ambushed.

Remember you only have to run faster than the slowest guy or sneak some salmon in their backpack It is now legal to have a firearm in National Parks, just not in the visitor centers Peter

Interesting information from the National Park Service:
"Congress approved a new law allowing loaded firearms in national parks starting Feb. 22, 2010. That means people can openly carry legal handguns, rifles, shotguns and other firearms and also may carry concealed guns as allowed by state statute.
Guns may not be allowed on shuttle buses, ferries or boats within certain national parks, depending on the state.
Other weapons such as bows, swords, and pellet or BB guns are not affected by the new law and remain prohibited by the National Park Service."
Johnny Cash's song will have to change to: "Don't Take Your Bow and Sword to the National Park"
