Here is the February 1 Lucille Allen update. It has been a while since my last correspondence but no major changes in Lucille's condition. She has been in a specialized rehab center for a month and did show some overall improvements. She is almost talking but her tongue isn't working very well. This also affects her swallowing. Because of that she is still on the PEG feeding tube in her stomach. Her legs are still spasmodic and she will need tendon surgery on both legs in the near future to get her feet flat. The recouping time is about 6 weeks. She is able to sit on the side of her bed but can not walk with a walker. Because of Medicare and insurance rules, we are having to move her back to a skilled nursing facility. Lucille has a great spirit and works hard in all of her therapy sessions. We both need lots of prayers and thank God for each precious day. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and continued support. God bless.
