I had 2 Morseth, inexperience, I sold all:

#1 ~1970-80 years model Ozark Hunter, I was sorry for him to use.

#2 by Harry Morseth, sold it 2 times in a row))

So I bought a #3, 3.5" blade original, bolster looks like the original,
handle redone. I think this is some kind of natural material,
with giving a natural form of plastic is rarely trouble oneself.

Lovely old knives, and even the latest is cool, I love old stuff if just not beat and rusted into junk, and that one is far from it...I would think maybe even another more authentic handle, if possible, and enough tang to work with.

I kept meaning to get one even after Harry stopped, son started, and then sold to AG Russell (made by Bob Dozier, in main), but never got around to it.....outbid on a couple in the last 10-15yrs, and then sorta stopped going after Swede or Norse laminates at all. Am trying to remember if AG sold just blades or kits back then....

Only Morseth I ever had. Never did know if it was Harry that made it but the knife was well made and I just loved the horizontal carry sheath. Don't know if that was original either. The scrim was a bonus and an after thought but a bit bogus. Bad pics and not mine, sorry. This was purchase off Gun Broker about 6 years ago.

Warren, beautiful skinner!

It did not Harry. Harry used blades from Brusletto
and put his stamp. Your knife is made of AG Russell.
Perhaps did himself Bob Dozier.

Thank you for that information. I also recall that the grandson might have been grinding blades sometime in the 70'S?

I have many Morseth knives in the collection. Several original pre-67 Harry Morseth made as well.

Cool! smile

I see the work of James Bering, right?

Bill, you can, if not difficult,
to make a more detailed picture
of the knife middle? (leather + stag)

These 3 are all from the early 1950's and have their original sheaths. MORSETH stamped on the ricasso are telltale Harry Morseth made knives. Brass hilts are indicative of the earliest made knives.

And you would be correct with noticing James Behring's handle. This is one of the "KIT" blades that AG Russell offered after purchasing the Morseth trademark from Steve Morseth.
