Chief, I've read Johnson's biography. It can be a hard read at times.

I agree, have to read it like a research project.

Here is the signature on the Blue Angel knife. If I had to guess, I would say that this knife was scrimmed much earlier than the two with the mountain men. The work is not as fine as the later ones. (But I like the subject!)

Just a guess looks like a S over a anchor, might be a former service man using the scrim name of sailor.

Looks like a "P" at the bottom to me. Either backwards, to the left or more sloppily to the right.

Have you tried a google search of just the emblem/logo?

Gary - How would a person do a search on the logo? Can you search on a photo or image?

I took care of it with no luck. Basically, I cropped the logo and then right-clicked in my browser. I have an extension that will help search for all instances of the image over google. It isn't perfect but it was worth a try.

Would dating the knife possibly help in the search?

I don't think that we need to introduce romance into this! Seriously, any info would help but I was just trying to help you guys that own the knives. I know that I have seen that logo before but just can't remember where.
