Ok guys...... This is my first post. I have had a Randall diver for years and just purchased a model 25 from the Capt and an awesome nylon sheath for my # 16. Being a newbie here my question is, this knife we are building, will it be available to all of us? If so I vote for some nice wood. I already have micarta on the diver and stag on the 25, a nice wood handle would be nice on my next one. Thanks for the info.

So it's just one knife that will be built?

Diver, welcome. We all work on the build. At the end, we draw lots and the winner gets to purchase the knife in about 6 months when the Captain receives it (he orders the knife in his next order after the vote.) If you participate and don't like the way the knife build went, you don't have to go into the lottery to buy.

Jump on in, the water's fine!

Thanks for the info Raindog. I'm an old Alabama boy myself! I guess the lottery process will explain itself as we go along.

We pick numbers. Too easy. I'm located in Coldwater. I live close enough to Talladega Speedway to HATE raceweek.

Welcome Diver! I'm a new guy myself, and still learning how this works as we go along. Lots of fun and you can learn a ton about Randalls and knives in general.

Glad to hear you liked the RMK nylon dive sheath. I picked one up myself from the shop, and love it, but have yet to use it. One of these years...

We're presently discussing wood handle materials. Capt. will call for a vote after all have had an opportunity to discuss our preferences. Capt. blew me away with a pic of 12 different woods from his 'stash' on page 77 of this thread. Just unbelievably gorgeous stuff. If you haven't seen it, you've got to take a ganer,

It's "red" Palm, Chief...not black. Keep guessing. 5 o'clock ain't black ash burl..."BUT"...(You knew it was coming up sometime)...12 o'clock "is"!
Best, Capt. Chris
