I was all about the Thuya, but the more I think about it, I could order a knife with Thuya on it any time I wanted. For a "build knife", why not go with something you can't get everyday. I believe I'm going to change up, and go with Chief on this one, and say this knife needs something from the Capt's stash.

Well, technically, you could ring up the Capt anytime and raid his stash (for the right price). laugh

I'm still standing with my man James -- THUYA all the way. But... as he predicted, it does look like the stash idea is "catching fire". As others have mentioned, it's hard for me to picture what something is going to look like without seeing it first. I suppose though that's where the Captain and other experienced folks can provide some insight and possibly pictures. I do know that spalted pecan came out killer so that says something for the stash wood.

Sorry James but my support for Thuya is wavering. ;-)

Wow Capt., now you've gotta tell us what these are...they are just beautiful. Great eye for the woods!

Is the slab at 10:00 birdseye maple?

The ones at 7:00 (greyish) and 9:00 are certainly unusual and gorgeous, but I have no idea what they may be (but I like them).

And that spalted pecan handle is great Wally. I like the contrasting shades of brown. Came out great and certainly a unique look.
