Friday update for Lucille August 5. A lot has happened this past week. The good things are she just had her trachea removed this morning. She is trying to talk more each day. No lung issues and her mobility continues to improve but she is still not able to sit on her own or move around the bed. She has not passed her swallow test with ice chips. She is still having horrendous leg cramps. Doctors say it a brain stimulus, not an electrolyte issue. They are giving her gabapentin and norco which does inhibit the cramps but also puts her to sleep. Not good for her PT and muscle toning. She was moved from the ICU yesterday, but this new room doesn't come with the same care. She isn't able to press the help button. So there are some things that still need to get worked out, but we are PTL for all her improvement. Please continue to pray for no more cramps or infections.
