Pap is right, Fancy spacers do use up an option, but I think there are those who want to use an option on spacers they like.
YMMV

No "final" vote intended (and Capt. has certainly not set any deadline). As noted, just wanted to see how the vote was trending so far given the wide diversity of opinion.

Thanks for the Thuya photos. Is the shade of color fairly uniform, or is there some diversity (light to dark) to the wood?

I'd like to see bone linen with red and Alum. spacers, but appear to be outvoted. So, if we go with Thuya handle, red-white-blue looks pretty good, as you can see here.

Thuya, like most any natural mare rial will have some variance. I've yet to see a piece of Thuya I didn't like, though. Curly maple is probably the wood with the least difference from knife to knife. Just my opinion...

Billy, those handles look absolutely stunning!

One observation about thuya, and I say that as a knifemaker. This wood is certainly beautiful. But it is a conifer, like redwood and in my experience it has a tendency to become "dirty" in use, unless it is very well treated with wax or Danish oil or something like that. For a "user" it would not be my first choice. For a safe queen, great. My 2c
