This is a fascinating, and diverse, discussion of handle material and spacer preferences. Some great comments and photos. We've had 7 different handle materials proposed so far. Here's how the vote is trending (desert snake's is the last one counted here):

Spacers only votes:
-2 votes in favor of RWB spacers.

Handle Material/Spacers:

THUYA: 9
-No spacer color specified: 4
-Red spacers specified: 1
-Black spacers specified: 4
-Border Patrol handle shape specified: 1

BONE LINEN MICARTA (with black & aluminum spacers): 1
-Note: A second vote for bone linen was amended to Thuya/black spacers and was counted with Thuya.

BLACK MICARTA (with black spacers, aka "The Darth Vader"): 3

MICARTA (color not specified; with RWB spacers): 1

IVORITE (with black spacers): 2

OTHER PREMIUM/EXOTIC/SUPPLIED WOOD (with all black or red spacers): 1

STAG (with black spacers and NS radius butt cap): 1

We've had 4 voters express a preference for a black sheath.

4 pages of discussion..."BUT"...just for the record, I "never" called for any vote yet. There "is" no vote yet. That's the purpose of the discussion. Crew members can plea their case, examples shown, passions expressed, etc., etc...
When it's time for a vote, I'll "call" for a vote. It ain't time for a vote yet! We have not explored many possibilities still available. Brass spacers, aluminum spacers, collars, etc. have barely been mentioned. Time has a tendency to weed a few things out. Right now...we're still weedin'...
...to be continued, Capt. Chris
PS: Thuya burl with brass & black spacers...CCS

Thanks or the clarification Capt. Chris!

That Thuya is NO joke!!!! It looks great with Brass spacers, and could easily look great with all black spacers too.

Although I have made up several RMKs in the past with Thuya, I cannot find an example in my extensive photo library...and I've been looking all day! It is similar to Bubinga and Amboyna in coloring. Being as we're using a nickel silver single hilt, aluminum & red would look pretty good also..."but"...Aluminum & black would rock the house!
Best, Capt. Chris
PS: I think Brother Billy may have more photos...CCS

In my opinion aluminum/black spacers is the most beautiful spacer combination with any handle material, so I vote for that.

Only problem is that it takes away another option and all black or red spacers don't count. If we go with all black or red, we can get the thuya wood handle and one more option like wrist thong, finger grips, compass, duraluminum butt, etc. Just sayin'.

I also agree with Pap!

Red, Black or RWB Spacers.

I'm not a big fan of all black spacers with black micarta. Too boring.
... In my humble opinion.

Black spacers look great with a wood handle ... just sayin'. smile
Or Green micarta.
