There was a period of time during the early 80s when rich Texas ranchers were paying big bucks to convert Caddys and Lincolns in to pick-up style cars. They actually used these vehicles out in the field. I seem to remember that 60 Minutes did a story about it. Soon afterwards, the SUV became popular. I always wandered how much those conversions pushed the SUV market back then.

Rich ranchers are the craziest people!
