Crew,
Great discussion, all the way around! A #5-6"...with "teeth"...will give ya'll the look that I think you want. I'll dig up a photo below.
A #25 handle on a #12-9" still "does" leave some custom-options open (sorry Ram), like a wrist thong. nickel silver or brass at no additional charge. Rounded butt cap, solid nickel silver butt cap, single or double hilt, a different "center" made from a piece of something from the Captain's "stash".....(Here it comes.)....."BUT".....(Ahh: I feel better now).....this knife would top out at close to $1K! I thought the reason we (over-whelmingly) voted for building just one "Hot Knife", verses two was because of the cost? (Huh?)
There's still lots of time and nothing has been determined yet. Let's see what happens. On a related note, I just don't know why the Model #5 is not mentioned, with regards to the sawteeth option, in the catalog. Perhaps (Caution: This next statement represents speculation on behalf of the good Captain! Always a dangerous thing, ya'll should grab a few grains of salt to take with it.) because of the fact that the #5-4" offers none...and the #5-5" is a totally separate blade being used, the shop decided to not list this option for the "other" model #5,s. i.e. 6", 7", and 8".
In any case teeth can be had. #25-styled handles "do" have a decent choice of options, and if we chose name etching and name plates, as was previously suggested, please keep in mind that this uses up "2" of those precious options. OK: I'm done!
Keep it going, I love it so far, Capt. Chris
