That's kind of a joke between Silverknife and me.

Seriously, when were these "heavies" produced, when were they shipped, and what were the sheath options?

Here's a comparison of the tang width.

I wouldn't set a reserve any lower than $1,500.

Amazing that the shop did not notice at once when assembling the wider-tang blades with the handles slotted for the regular 1/4" stock , they would normally not fit, would they ?

Rhett called me and asked if I knew what the price should be, I said "I don't know". I haven't sold, or even seen one, in the last few years. After he hung up I tried to remember what I sold the last one for. After a couple of C.C. and waters, it came back to me in a fog. I had sold one at the Blade Show in 2000 or 2001 and I got 1400.00 for it.

Based on that and what I see a lot of other knives that are much more plentiful sell for, I'd say 1500.00 is a pretty good price. A "true" 14 collector would likely jump on that price, you don't see these knives evey day. As a dealer, if someone offered me one for 1000.00 I'd jump all over it...my little .02 worth

I thought the same thing about the handles. My only idea was someone just thought somebody made a mistake machining the grips, corrected them to fit and thought nothing more of it.
Thanks,
