I will not disagree with your statement there.

It would seem to me that most animals would be wary of 4 or more people moving thru a forested or jungle area. Parts of at least Vietnam was developed to grow rice many years before Americans came to Vietnam so the ability to hunt and kill game in Vietnam would be sporadic at best. And of course killing game would tell everyone that you were around. But obviously there are less traveled jungle areas too.
