My friend Randy Whiteman has a love affair with these awesome old folders, so I thought that I would post one for him.

I have never seen a knife like that before! That is pretty cool use of stag. Do you know when it was made? Is there a lock on the blade where it is hidden on the end piece where the leather strap is? Or is it a simple slip lock. Thanks for sharing. smile

Langres, France was most certainly where the knife was made. Langres is a knife making center of France, and has been since the 17th century. This knife is a very old pattern of knife, often called a hunters clasp knife, ring lock knife, or ring pull knife. I am guessing as early as the 1850's. Thanks for posting.
