Lil story, When I was seven years old growing up in Charlotte, NC., Dad had a knife just like this in his tool box. It was his work knife. The blade was pretty ragged from cutting and striping wire and normal household work. His knife was not the knife of a safe queen but a working mans blade relegated to the toolbox in the garage. Well back to the story, I picked the knife up and pulled out the blade and promptly cut my finger. Not a bad cut, but any cut for a seven year old is a major situation. Dad came to the rescue and cleaned the cut and placed a band-aid on it. I was all better. The knife was a FA Bower barlow knife, purchased for about 3 dollars. the knife is long gone now but in my memory. About ten years ago i found a knife on e-bay just like the one I remembered from my childhood. I bought the knife for about 35 dollars. Dad came over for a visit and I pulled the Bower knife out and handed it to him and asked him if he remembered when I cut my finger all those years ago, he smiled and said he could not recall as he opened up the blade. But I do remember this knife. He said he picked it up at a local hardware store in Tampa, Fla. Back to today, When I hold this old FA Bower Barlow knife I remember it all, every moment. When I hold this old Bower Barlow I am holding my dad's knife.
